Tinubu wins APC presidential primary in Rivers with 280,082 Votes as Challenger Records zero

President Bola Tinubu has secured victory in the APC presidential primary conducted in Rivers State, polling 280,082 votes. His challenger, Stanley Osifo, did not record any vote across the 23 local government areas.

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, acting as State Collation Officer, announced the results and said the figures would be forwarded to the party’s national headquarters in Abuja. Fubara confirmed that all valid votes cast went to Tinubu.

Key Points:

Tinubu’s clean sweep across all 23 LGAs reinforces his total control over APC structures in Rivers.
The challenger scoring zero votes raises questions about the competitiveness of the primary.
Governor Fubara’s role as collation officer may be seen as an endorsement of Tinubu despite their political differences.
The result aligns with patterns from other states where Tinubu has recorded landslide victories.
Such one‑sided primaries could be criticised as lacking internal democracy, even as they signal party unity.

Tinubu is set to be formally declared the APC presidential candidate for 2027, with the party now focusing on the general election campaign.
