Obi revealed this while speaking during a X Spaces on Sunday night.

The ex-governor of Anambra State, however, insisted he will not be a running mate to anybody.

According to Obi, he has not garnered all the experience he has, only to end up as a vice-president.

“I am not travelling round the world to learn governance to be Vice president,” Obi said.

““I know how to turn Nigeria around. I built my business from scratch and have more experience than any candidate, including the sitting President.

“Peter Obi will be on the ballot in 2027. I need your support. I need your prayers.”

The reports alleged that Atiku, who was the PDP presidential candidate in 2023, had stepped aside for Obi and even agreed to support a one-term presidency for him in the interest of regional balance.

However, Atiku’s media adviser, Paul Ibe, has described the claims as false and misleading.

Reacting on Saturday, December 27, Ibe shared a screenshot of the report on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account and wrote bluntly:

“Fake news: Not on the menu!”

The denial has triggered fresh reactions online, with supporters of Atiku and Peter Obi debating the 2027 permutations and possible political alliances.

The development is also coming amid reports that Peter Obi is planning to formally join the ADC, further fueling speculation ahead of the next general election.

With 2027 still some distance away, political calculations appear to be heating up, and Atiku has made it clear he is not stepping down for anyone.

‘Tinubu unwell’ – Sowore reveals reasons for president’s European trips

Former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore on Sunday disclosed that President Bola Tinubu is unwell and managing his health.....TAP TO CONTINUE READING

Sowore also claimed that Senate President Godswill Akpabio is “practically dying.”

He made the revelation while explaining the reason for Tinubu’s abrupt trip abroad.

Tinubu, who was in Lagos State for the Christmas and New Year holiday, left Nigeria for Europe today.

A statement by Tinubu’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, said the president is also scheduled for an official visit to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

Onanuga added that the president will participate in the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit at the invitation of the UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Posting on X, Sowore wrote: “Nigeria’s Bola Ahmed Tinubu is unwell just managing himself, reason he’s abruptly flown to ‘Europe’ today @Senator_Akpabio is practically dying, why is Nigeria governed by sick people?

“And whereas nothing is wrong with illnesses it is callous to use a country as health insurance for sick leaders.”

2027: Peter Obi Breaks Silence on Possible Defection to ADC

The 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has clarified that he does not need to formally defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).....TAP TO CONTINUE READING

Obi explained that he has always been a member of the ADC and was part of the coalition from its inception.

He made the clarification while speaking during an X Space discussion on Sunday night.

The former Anambra State governor also stressed that he holds former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar in high regard.

“I am not joining the ADC. I cannot re-join what I am already a part of,” Obi said.

“I have been part of the coalition from day one.

“Nobody is stepping down for me in the ADC.

“We have all agreed to work together, and Atiku remains my respected leader.”

His clarification comes amid reports of a possible move to the party in the forthcoming presidential election.
