Jackson was sentenced to death for killing a herdsman.

An Adamawa farmer, Jackson is widely perceived to have been unjustly sentenced for allegedly killing a herdsman in self-defence.

There has been widespread calls for intervention in his case.

Jackson who is in Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre was pardoned alongside Joseph Eugene from the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Yola, and Maxwell Ibrahim, serving at the Medium Security Custodial Center in Kaduna.

The pardon is in commemoration of Christmas and New Year celebrations, according to a statement released on Tuesday in Yola by Governor Fintiri’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou.

“Others who had the remainder of their sentences remitted whole include Joshua James Audo, Adamu Ibrahim, Mohammed Abubakar, Ibrahim Usman and Saidu Abubakar serving at the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Numan and Medium Security Custodial Centre, Jada,” Humwashi stated.

He explained that Governor Fintiri extended his gesture to the inmates because the inmates had demonstrated significant improvement in their behaviour and conduct.

He quoted Fintiri as saying, “In the exercise of my prerogative of mercy as enshrined in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and in line with the recommendations of the Adamawa State Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy, I have granted pardon to three persons and directed the remission of the remainder of the sentences of five others who have served various jail terms and have significantly demonstrated good conduct over the years.”

Woman Reveals How She Met Her Husband While In A Relationship With Another Man

A lady on TikTok has stirred conversations after she shared the story of how she met her husband while she was still in a relationship with her ex-boyfriend.

The narrator begins by explaining that she was in a serious relationship with her ex-boyfriend for nearly a year.

Though she met the man who would become her husband during this time, she remained strictly loyal and refused to speak to him because she was already committed.

However, things with her boyfriend began to sour. Two months into their relationship, his attitude shifted; he became distant and secretive. Despite her efforts to “fix” things and encourage him to be open, he remained closed off.

The narrator turned to prayer, and she claims that God began revealing the truth through her dreams. Initially, she struggled to believe these visions because her boyfriend was “highly spiritual,” but the instincts persisted.

The breaking point came during a visit when he ordered a pizza, ate almost the entire thing himself, and gave her only one slice. When she confronted him about being stingy, it highlighted a deeper lack of care.

Eventually, her dreams were confirmed: she confronted him about a Senior High School (SHS) girl he claimed to be “helping” who was actually pregnant with his child. His defensive reaction—asking how she knew and accusing his friends of telling her—confirmed the betrayal.

Despite the pregnancy, the narrator initially tried to give him another chance, even planning for the unborn child. She requested to meet the “baby mama” so they could get to know one another. However, when they finally met, the boyfriend introduced the narrator as his sister. This final act of cowardice and deception was the end; she laughed at the absurdity of the situation and walked away for good.

On her way home from that final encounter, she reached out to the man she had met previously. They shared a playful text exchange where he jokingly pretended not to remember her. After she sent him two photos, his enthusiastic response made her realize she had finally found her “peace.”

President Trump’s Airstrikes: Stop military cooperation with US immediately – Islamic Cleric Sheikh Gumi Tells Tinubu Govt

Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has called on the Federal Government to immediately halt all military cooperation with the United States following reported US airstrikes.....TAP TO CONTINUE READING

Gumi warned that American involvement could worsen Nigeria’s security challenges and undermine national sovereignty.

Gumi made the call in a statement posted on his Facebook page on Friday.

He said while Islam permits the fight against terrorism, such actions should only be carried out by what he described as “clean hands,” arguing that the United States lacks the moral authority to lead such efforts because of its global military record.

According to the cleric, Nigeria made a mistake by allowing foreign powers to play a role in its counterterrorism operations, insisting that “terrorists do not truly fight terrorists” and that such interventions often result in civilian casualties and hidden political motives.

Gumi warned that allowing Nigeria to become a theatre of war would attract anti-US forces into the country, further destabilising it.

He also cautioned that US involvement, particularly under claims of protecting Christians, could polarise the country along religious lines.

The cleric further argued that airstrikes alone cannot defeat terrorism, stressing that effective counterterrorism requires strong ground operations, which he said Nigeria has enough personnel to carry out if properly organised.

“This is the mistake Nigeria has made. Terrorists don’t fight terrorists in truth; they may only kill innocent people and have ulterior motives behind the drama of fighting ‘terror’.

“As a principle, no nation should allow its land to be a theater of war. And no nation should allow its neighbors to be their enemies.

“If Nigeria wants military assistance, China, Turkey, and Pakistan can do the job effectively,” part of his statement read.
