Ex-Nollywood power couple, Faithia Williams and Saidi Balogun cements relationship at late Allwell Ademola’s Service of Songs

Former Nollywood power couple Faithia Williams and Saidi Balogun have melted the hearts of fans with their sweet moment at their colleague, Allwell Ademola’s Service of Songs.

It was reported on Thursday evening that a Service of Songs was held for the movie star. Her colleagues, family and friends gathered in large numbers to pay their last respects.

In a clip from the event that is making the rounds online, Saidi and Faithia were captured in a rare conversation. In the clip, Faithia was sitting with a group of women who were in charge of the drinks and snacks at the SOS. Saidi was captured standing beside her as they conversed.

Saidi and Faithia got married in 2000 at Ikorodu registry and divorced fourteen years later. Their divorce was quite messy, and Saidi, who told the court that he could not live under the same roof with his estranged wife due to irreconcilable differences, also demanded, among other requests, that Faithia drop his name, Balogun.

The former couple share two kids – Khalid and Aliyah.

In 2024, the former couple finally made peace, as for the first time in years, Saidi sent a sweet birthday note to Faithia, showering her with love and prayers. Faithia had also done the same as she sweetly celebrated Saidi Balogun’s birthday.

Faithia fueled reconciliation rumors with him as she referred to herself by her former married name, Faithia Balogun. The Yoruba actress shocked many when she addressed herself with her former marital title, Faithia Williams Balogun.

When Saidi lost his first daughter in October, Faithia had taken a break from social media to mourn. When she returned, she made a post gushing over the deceased and appreciated the public for their support.

When Faithia also buried her father in July, Saidi showed his support and attended the burial ceremony where he was captured raining money on her.

To add to it, when Saidi’s son celebrated his induction, Faithia congratulated him on his new feat and prayed for him.

Funke Akindele, Passengers Stranded at London Airport Over Air Peace Flight Delay

Nollywood filmmaker Funke Akindele has called out Air Peace after passengers, including elderly travellers, were stranded at London’s Gatwick Airport for nearly 10 hours without luggage, hotel accommodation, or clear communication. Akindele said passengers had been waiting since 6:30 am after being told a bird strike caused the delay. “Air Peace, this is unacceptable,” she wrote on X. The airline attributed the disruption to factors beyond its control.

A power official in Bayelsa State has blamed residents for erratic electricity supply, saying they overload the grid by using too many appliances when power is restored.
