Meet Bus Aunty, a London-based Nigerian woman with video of 48m views
A Nigerian woman based in London, Bemi Orojuogun, has captured widespread attention after a social media clip garnered 48 million views.
Working as a nurse in the UK, she has built a following of nearly 300,000 on TikTok under the nickname ‘Bus Aunty’.

“My love for London red buses started a long time ago, when I first came to this country in the early 90s.
“There are four parts of London that I really, really love: red buses, red telephone booths, all the London bridges and Big Ben. But buses are my main love.”
Last March, Orojuogun shared a simple footage of a 241 bus passing through Plaistow, east London. She described her reaction as just typical enthusiasm, unaware that her video would soon go viral.
To her astonishment, the clip rapidly gained popularity, racking up up to 48 million views across the globe.
“I received a call from my daughter saying: ‘Mummy, you are going viral’,” said Orojuogun, who explained that “I loved the way young people really liked the video, their comments and the way they were reposting it, and then I did more of it.
“Some of them love to guess where I will be going next and suggest where I should visit next, and that is how it all started.”
Orojuogun discussed her most viewed video, which has garnered 48.1 million views. She described it as a brief, one-minute clip featuring her standing at a bus stop in Greenwich, with buses passing by to the tune of Take That’s “Back for Good.”
“It is still all a dream and a shock to me. A lot of celebrities have been in my DMs, congratulating me, telling me they are proud of me,” she explained.
“But not only that, I am so glad the way social media has accepted me, the way they have come behind me and supported me.”

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has urged his citizens engaging in xenophobic attacks against foreign nationals to remember the role other African countries played in the anti-apartheid struggle. The Nigerian Consulate in Johannesburg has called for urgent investigations after two Nigerian nationals, Amaramiro Emmanuel and Ekpenyong Andrew, died in separate incidents involving South African security operatives.
Emmanuel reportedly died on April 20 after sustaining injuries allegedly inflicted by South African National Defence Force (SANDF) personnel. Andrew was arrested on April 19, and his body was later discovered at the Pretoria Central Mortuary. The consulate has urged independent investigations.
