EPL: Why I substituted Haaland in 2-0 defeat to Man Utd – Guardiola

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has explained why he took off Erling Haaland during their 2-0 defeat to Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday.

With City already trailing by two goals and needed to pull themselves back in the game.

But Guardiola decided to substitute Haaland and introduce 18-year-old Divine Mukasa.

According to Guardiola, he brought on Mukasa because he wanted his team to have “new energy”.

He said: “We had new energy. At the end it is a question of how many moments you have.”

City will be hoping to bounce back, when they travel to Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League next week.
