The video, which circulated on social media on Wednesday, showed the officer with a swollen face and a bleeding nose, surrounded by members of the public shouting “ole” (thief).

Another officer was seen trying to intervene as the crowd closed in.

Abimbola Adebisi, Lagos police spokesperson, described the narrative accompanying the video as “false and misleading”.

She noted that the officer, attached to the Lagos state taskforce, was enforcing a ban on illegal parking along Brown street, Oshodi, when the confrontation occurred.

The incident escalated after the officer stopped a motorist attempting to park improperly. During the altercation, the officer accidentally discharged his firearm, causing debris to hit bystanders.

“The motorist became violent, resulting in a heated confrontation,” Adebisi said.

“During the incident, the Inspector accidentally discharged shots onto the road, and debris from the impact affected some passersby.

“The mob immediately gathered, during which the Inspector was violently attacked and sustained serious injuries.

“The Inspector has been subjected to disciplinary actions in line with established police procedures for his unprofessional conduct. In the same vein, thirteen (13) suspects captured in the viral video assaulting the officer have been arrested, currently in police custody, and will be prosecuted upon the completion of investigations.

“They are: Dele Oriade ‘m’ aged 39 years, Adekunle Olalere ‘m’ aged 40 years, Mudashiru Olamilekan ‘m’ aged 28 years, Anayo Achusie 34 years, Joshua Enwonyin ‘m’ aged 24 years, Okoro Okechukwu ‘m’ 26 years, Rilwan Lateef ‘m’ aged 32 years, Damilare Odebode ‘m’ aged 22 years, Haruna Aleshi ‘n’ 25 years, Sodiq Omoniyi ‘m’ aged 26 years, Chukwudi Patience ‘f’ aged 25 years, Godstime Okafor ‘f’ 26 years, Chinedu Divine ‘m’ 29 years.”

The rapper’s outburst appeared suddenly on X, where he told his followers he no longer wants his mother involved in his personal life.

In a post that quickly drew widespread attention, Blueface wrote, “Mom we could never have sex I’m not into that please stop being so invested in the women I’m laying down with it’s kinda weird like you jealous or some we can never lay down together you not my type !”

The rapper’s comments come shortly after his brief relationship and breakup with Hazel-E. The “Love and Hip Hop” star, appearing with her new partner, told TMZ she believes Karlissa wants Blueface “all for herself,” using a graphic reference to describe the alleged behavior.

Karlissa later responded on Instagram, demanding a public apology from her son. She also threatened to remove him from her show, saying she wants to end what she described as ongoing “shenanigans.” She added that incest is illegal in California.

The family has a history of public disputes, but the latest exchange marks one of the most explosive accusations yet to play out between Blueface and his mother.

The Former Senator slumped in his office around midday and was immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Eyewitnesses and officials at the Bayelsa Government House said the deputy governor collapsed unexpectedly while attending to official duties. His death has also been confirmed by Lere Olayinka, Media Aide to the FCT Minister, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike.

Efforts to revive him at the hospital were unsuccessful.

Senator Ewhrudjakpo, aged 60, had served as Deputy Governor since February 2020 and previously represented Bayelsa West in the Nigerian Senate.

Details surrounding the circumstances of his death are still emerging, and the Bayelsa State Government is expected to release an official statement soon.
