BREAKING: Christian Genocide Saga: Finally US, Nigeria Close To Rounding Up Strategic Framework To Combat Terrorism
United States Congressman Riley Moore has announced that the U.S. and Nigerian governments are nearing a “significant milestone” in the fight against terrorism, with a strategic security framework expected to be finalized soon.....TAP TO CONTINUE READING
In a post on X on Sunday, Moore stated that the proposed framework would focus on combating extremist groups in the North-East and Middle Belt regions and specifically ending the “genocide against Christians.”
Naija News recalls that Congressman Moore led a delegation on a fact-finding mission to Nigeria, where he witnessed the impact of violent extremism firsthand, particularly in Benue and Plateau states.
The delegation held meetings with senior Nigerian officials, including Nuhu Ribadu, National Security Adviser; Lateef Fagbemi, Attorney General of the Federation; Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State and various religious and traditional leaders.
Moore said: “We did have positive conversations with the Nigerian government, and I believe we are close to a strategic security framework to address both the ISIS and Boko Haram threat in the Northeast, as well as the genocide against Christians by the radical Fulani Muslims in the Middle Belt.”
He stressed that the detailed report from the fact-finding mission would be presented to President Donald Trump and would “outline paths to work with the Nigerian government to end the slaughter of our brothers and sisters in Christ.”
He reinforced the horrific account of some of the victims he met during the visit, saying, “What I witnessed during my trip to Nigeria was heartbreaking.
“I met a woman who witnessed all five of her children murdered in front of her.
“Another woman lost her husband and two daughters and had her unborn child killed.”
The push for the security framework follows the previous redesignation of Nigeria by President Trump as a “Country of Particular Concern” over Christian killings, along with a threat to take military action against Fulani extremists should the Nigerian government fail to address their activities.
In response, the Federal Government initiated dialogue, with a delegation led by NSA Ribadu visiting the U.S. to present Nigeria’s position. The Nigerian government has since taken several actions to address insecurity, including declaring a state of emergency on insecurity, establishing a US-Nigeria Joint Working Group on Security, and appointing Gen. Christopher Musa as the Minister of Defence.

Kwara State Government Finally Offers Clarifications on video Linking Officials to Bandits
The Kwara State Government has denied reports circulating on social media that the Nigerian Army arrested armed bandits in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state, describing the claims as false and misleading.....TAP TO CONTINUE READING
The clarification followed a viral video in which some suspects purportedly arrested in Ifelodun alleged that they were supplied with arms and a vehicle by the state government.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the Commissioner for Communications, Mrs Bola Olukoju, the government said no armed bandit was arrested by the Army or any other security agency in Ifelodun or any part of Kwara State.
“Kwara State Government wishes to clarify that the Nigerian Army did not arrest any armed bandit in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the State contrary to the disinformation spreading on social media platforms,” the statement said.
According to the commissioner, the government had reviewed the video in circulation, in which the suspects claimed to be in possession of a vehicle allegedly provided by the “Ilorin Government” and weapons obtained “from Abuja.”
However, she noted that the suspects were not arrested in Kwara State. “No security agency, including the Army, ever reported such arrests in Kwara.
They were reportedly arrested in Auchi, Edo State. Further details are awaited for more clarity,” the statement added.
The government also stressed that no state government has the authority to arm individuals with AK-47 rifles, adding that the suspects did not state in the video that the Kwara State Government gave them any weapons.
Providing further clarification, the statement said the Ifelodun Local Government Authority confirmed that the security van referenced in the video was originally provided to vigilantes deployed in the area to complement security efforts.
The vigilantes, it said, have since left Ifelodun, while the local government had repeatedly complained that the vehicle was not returned.
While investigations into the matter are ongoing, the state government called for improved inter-agency collaboration and intelligence sharing among security agencies to effectively tackle banditry and other violent crimes.
