Na Kingston Crown Court sentence dem to a combined jail term of 55 years. Na Metropolitan Police tok this wan inside one statement on Monday.

The Nigerians wey the court send go jail na David Akintola, Ayomide Olaribiro, Olabiyi Obasa, and David Okewole. The name of the other people wey dey the gang na James Adodo, Robert Hills, Nelson Joel, Michael Babo, Mushtakim Miah, and Laville Bloise.

According to investigations wey authorities do, the gang carry out 13 robbery operations between September and November 2024, mostly at EE stores across the UK.

The police tok sey dem dey always threaten violence to make staff of the stores open for dem to enter to steal mobile phones and other ogbonge devices. Police say dem steal items wey worth £240,000.

Na thru DNA and other evidence, including data and vehicle records na hin officers use take trace dem to the offence. The group no know sey officers don dey monitor dem tey tey. On November 19, 2024, officers arrest four of dem after dem go operate for one EE shop in Kilburn. The police later arrest some other suspects after investigations.

The names of the people wey dem send go prison na:

“James Adodo of St Martins Road, Dartford, Kent, was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment. David Akintola of Samuel Street, Woolwich, was sentenced to six years and six months’ imprisonment.

“Michael Babo of Gilbert Close, Woolwich, was sentenced to six years and 10 months’ imprisonment. Robert Hills of Mayfield Road, Gravesend, Kent, was sentenced to five years and three months’ imprisonment.

“Ayomide Olaribiro of Warrior Square, Manor Park, was sentenced to four years and six months’ imprisonment. Nelson Joel of St Martins Road, Dartford, Kent, was sentenced to three years and three months’ imprisonment.

“Olabiyi Obasa of Norfolk Close, Dartford, Kent, was sentenced to three years and six months’ imprisonment. David Okewole of Vale Road, Northfleet, Kent, was sentenced to seven years and six months’ imprisonment.”

Two other members faced lesser sentences after admitting to attempted robbery.

“Laville Bloise of Goldcrest Close, Thamesmead, was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment, suspended for two years.

“Mushtakim Miah of Artillery Place, Woolwich, was sentenced to eight years and six months’ imprisonment,” the police concluded.

According to police reports, the makeshift detention facility began operating on 2 December 2025. Authorities further revealed that she detained at least 36 people, some for drinking at her tavern without paying, and others for outstanding debts.

Reports also indicate that the woman used the facility to detain men who allegedly assaulted women while drunk at her establishment.

Police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
