African Democratic Congress (ADC) Leadership Battle: Court Delays Judgment on Mark, Aregbesola’s Removal Suit

A Federal High Court in Abuja has shifted judgment in a suit seeking to restrain Senator David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola from parading themselves as African Democratic Congress (ADC) chairman and secretary until April 14.....TAP TO CONTINUE READING

The ruling was initially scheduled for Monday but was adjourned due to the judge’s pressing official engagements. The suit was filed by House of Representatives member Leke Abejide, who argues the leadership handover was illegal.

Key Points:

Abejide seeks an order nullifying Ralph Nwosu’s handover of ADC leadership to Mark.
He also seeks to restrain INEC from recognising Mark and Aregbesola as ADC leaders.
Defendants argue the matter is an internal party affair and non-justiciable.
They say Mark was elected on July 29, 2025, not appointed on July 2.
The court had fixed April 13 for judgment before the adjournment.
