Bandits now better armed than the Nigerian military — Fmr SGF claims

In a recent intervoew, Lawal alleged that the insurgency group that has operated for decades has more significant funding and logistical support, which places them ahead of even military personnel.
He expressed concern that the groups are advancing in both tactics and technology — including the use of drones to strike military bases.
According to him, “The resources at their disposal are so enormous that most of the time, they are better armed than the soldiers. What they are yet to acquire now are helicopters and b@mbs, but we already hear of them using drones.”
Lawal, who served under former President Muhammadu Buhari, questioned how untrained militants could access such w%apons and equipment without backing from influential sponsors.
“If it’s just a primitive, uneducated, bush-living Fulani man, how does he get the knowledge? Somebody somewhere must be funding them. If people don’t call out their own when they commit violence, then they share responsibility,” he said.
