BREAKING NEWS: Footage shows hunters from world’s biggest uncontacted Amazon tribe
Incredible, never-before-seen footage and images of the world’s biggest uncontacted tribe have surfaced, with spear-wielding Amazonian hunters shown interacting with Western explorers.....TAP TO CONTINUE READING
The astonishing scenes were captured by American conservationist Paul Rosalie, who claims to be the first to capture high-definition images of the remote tribe.
Rosalie’s footage shows tribesmen cautiously descending on a beach, bows and arrows in hand, as they wade through a cloud of butterflies.

As they move closer along the beach, with wariness and curiosity, they scan the group of Western explorers and point, with some seeming ready to attack.
In a surprising twist, their initial vigilance dissipates, and the hunters are shown laying down their weapons and approaching the group of strangers.
A few of the tribesmen are even shown cracking a smile.
The footage was captured more than a year ago by Rosalie, but the conservationist decided not to disclose the exact location of the tribe sighting to protect them from further contact with the outside world.
Rosalie, who went on the Lex Friedman Podcast to talk about the footage, explained that the tribe has no immunity to common diseases, so contact with them could be fatal.

Speaking on the podcast, the conservationist said: ‘This has not been shown ever before. This is a world first.’
Up until now, footage of uncontacted tribes has been grainy, as it is usually taken from long distances and with phone cameras.
There are currently 196 remaining uncontacted Indigenous groups living in forests across the globe who have their own languages, cultures and territories.
The emergence of Rosalie’s footage comes after a new report by a London-based Indigenous rights organisation warned that influencers trying to reach uncontacted tribes were becoming a growing threat to their survival.
According to a report by Survival International, uncontacted groups are seeing ‘surging numbers’ of influencers who enter their territories and ‘deliberately seek interaction’ with tribes.

It explained how ‘adventure-seeking tourists’, influencers, and ‘aggressive missionaries’ are becoming a growing threat to these groups as they introduce diseases to which isolated tribes have no immunity to.
‘These efforts are far from benign. All contact kills. All countries must have no-contact policies in place.’

A London-based Indigenous rights organisation recently warned that influencers trying to reach uncontacted tribes were becoming a growing threat to their survival
The charity also explained how India’s North Sentinel island, which is home to the ‘the most isolated indigenous people in the world’, was becoming increasingly targeted by adventure influencers and illegal fishermen ‘who steal [their] food’ and boast about making contact with the tribe.
It mentioned the case of Mykhailo Viktorovych Polyakov, an American influencer who was on the island and tried to contact the Sentinelese after allegedly offering them ‘a can of ‘Diet Coke and a coconut’ earlier this year.
He was arrested by Indian authorities after he breached a law designed to protect the tribe.
He remains on bail and could face a lengthy prison sentence.
The group also condemned anthropologists and filmmakers for deliberately seeking uncontacted people ‘as an object of study…without thought for the potentially devastating consequences’.
It gave the example of David Attenborough, who in 1971 joined an Australian colonial government patrol in Papua New Guinea in an attempt to contact and film an uncontacted tribe, calling the moment ‘a reckless encounter which could easily have passed on deadly pathogens to which the[tribe] had no immunity’.
Survival’s research concludes that half of these groups could be wiped out within 10 years if governments and companies do not act.’

The report identified at least 196 uncontacted Indigenous groups in 10 countries, primarily in the South American nations sharing the Amazon rainforest, and estimated that nearly 65 per cent face threats from logging, about 40 per cent from mining and around 20 per cent from agribusiness.
The issue often receives little priority from governments, which critics say see uncontacted peoples as politically marginal because they don’t vote and their territories are often coveted for logging, mining and oil extraction.
Public debate is also shaped by stereotypes — some romanticise them as ‘lost tribes,’ while others view them as barriers to development.

Keir Starmer Slams Trump’s NATO Remarks as “Insulting and Appalling”
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has strongly criticized remarks by US President Donald Trump that appeared to dismiss the contributions and sacrifices of NATO allies during the Afghanistan war. Speaking to Fox News in Davos, Trump suggested NATO troops “stayed a little back, a little off the front lines” and claimed the US “never needed” its allies. Starmer described the comments as “insulting and frankly appalling,” emphasizing the courage and sacrifice of British and allied troops. Prince Harry and former US diplomat Nicholas Burns also condemned Trump’s statements, which have sparked widespread backlash among European leaders.....TAP TO CONTINUE READING
Key Points:
The remarks risk straining transatlantic relations and undermining the solidarity of the NATO alliance, especially ahead of future security collaborations.
They disrespect the documented sacrifices of thousands of NATO troops from multiple countries who served, were injured, or died in Afghanistan.
The backlash reflects broader European concerns about the reliability and diplomatic approach of US leadership under Trump’s administration.
Such statements may influence public and political perceptions of the US commitment to multilateral defense partnerships.
The timing, amid ongoing global security challenges, highlights tensions in how military contributions and alliances are acknowledged and valued.
The controversy is likely to fuel diplomatic discussions on alliance solidarity and the public recognition of collective military sacrifices.

North Korea Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un pictured grinning in ‘North Korean Benidorm’ as he enters women’s pool
North Korean despot Kim Jong-un has been seen grinning as he peers over a women’s spa pool bizarre new photographs.....TAP TO CONTINUE READING
The Supreme Leader turned up at the official opening of the Onpo Workers’ Recreation Centre in North Hamgyong Province yesterday afternoon – a newly-reopened resort previously described as the ‘North Korean Benidorm’. After a ribbon cutting ceremony, Kim kept his large winter coat on for all the photos, even when he was inside the warm spa building – but appeared to be thrilled at what he was seeing.
The hot spring spa was entirely remodelled after coming in for harsh criticism from Kim Jong-un back in 2018, when he singled it out for poor management and ‘shabby’ facilities. Speaking at the opening ceremony yesterday, he said: “Every section is arranged practically and harmoniously, with all architectural elements designed to blend with the surrounding natural environment.
“I remember when I visited here a few years ago… and severely criticised the uncultured and unhygienic management practices… Seeing this holiday camp, now rebuilt as an excellent rest facility for the people, fills me with pride that we have accomplished another meaningful task.”
During an inspection of the site in 2018, Kim Jong-un strongly criticised operations, saying the site was “worse than a fish tank” and “really shabby”. After his most recent visit, he ordered resort officials to prepare to open, giving instructions that the site should be fully opened next month.
Spa trips are being offered to members of North Korea’s ruling class along with foreign tourists from China and sanctions-hit Russia, with prices ranging between $1,000 (£743) to $1,350 (£1,000) for a week-long tour, excluding flights.

Meet Veronika, the cow that went viral for scratching herself with sticks and stunned scientists

Veronika, a Swiss Brown cow, has challenged long-held assumptions about farm animals after researchers saw her using tools to scratch hard-to-reach parts of her body, a behaviour scientists say is rare.
For nearly a decade, Veronika, living on a farm in the small Austrian town of Notsch im Gailtal, has been observed picking up sticks with her mouth and skillfully using them to scratch her back and other parts of her body. When animal behaviour experts at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna recently reviewed videos of her actions, they realised they were witnessing something extraordinary, CNN reported.
The findings have been published in the journal Current Biology, marking what researchers say is the first documented case of tool use in a pet cow.
“What this tells us is that cows have the potential to innovate tool use, and we have ignored this fact for thousands of years,” lead author Antonio J Osuna-Mascaro, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Veterinary Medicine, wrote in an email to CNN. “There are around 1.5 billion heads of cattle in the world, and humans have lived with them for at least 10,000 years. It’s shocking that we’re only discovering this now.”

According to the research team, Veronika’s behaviour goes beyond accidental interaction with objects. “When we first saw the video, it was clear that the behaviour was intentional and not accidental,” Osuna-Mascaro said.
Further, researchers conducted controlled experiments by placing a deck brush in front of Veronika in different orientations to better understand her abilities. They observed how she used her tongue to pick up the brush, which end she chose, and which parts of her body she targeted, the report added.
The results showed that Veronika not only used tools deliberately but also demonstrated her ability to make decisions. She preferred the bristled end of the brush for rubbing thicker skin on her upper body, while using the blunt handle for more sensitive areas, such as her udder.
“This is extremely surprising because the only other solid example of multipurpose tool use that we know of belongs to the chimpanzees of the Congo Basin,” Osuna-Mascaro said in the email. “These, sometimes, are observed using a single tool with two different ends, and use one end to open a hole in the termite mounds, and the other end to fish for the termites.”

He added, “The spatial relations in Veronika’s case are simpler. Nevertheless, it’s astonishing to find that a cow has the capability to do something like this.”
Despite lacking hands or opposable thumbs, Veronika displayed impressive control using her mouth. Researchers noted that she adjusted her grip depending on which end of the brush she needed, the body part she was scratching, and the kind of motion required, the report stated.
The study suggests that the cognitive abilities of cattle, and possibly other farm animals, may be far more advanced than previously believed. Researchers hope the discovery will encourage further observation and study of livestock behaviour, potentially reshaping how humans understand and treat animals that have lived alongside them.
