His statement comes after he was reportedly expelled from the party by the faction led by National Chairman Kabiru Turaki.

According to a report by Politics Nigeria, Turaki had earlier issued expulsion certificates to 11 senior party figures, including Wike, former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Umaru Bature, Kamarudeen Ajibade, SAN, Abdurahman Muhammad, and Senator Mao Ohuabunwa. The move was said to be part of efforts to “sanitise” the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

Reacting to the development, Wike rejected the expulsion and assured that he would continue to collaborate with other party members to strengthen PDP as a credible opposition force.

He spoke to journalists after inspecting the interchange bridge and road linking Gwarinpa with Jahi, extending to Katampe, Gishiri, and Maitama.

“Those that are factionalised are bound to leave the party. I’m still in PDP, and as you can see, not everyone has left.

“We still have good numbers and will continue to work together. That is what I have said to the party: put your house in order, because if you don’t, it is the party that will lose.

“So, for those who are concerned, we can work together to ensure the party remains a relevant opposition,” he said.
