Speaking on Tuesday, Ewor declared that Wike currently belongs to no political party, insisting he is politically stranded.

Ewor explained that the PDP has already expelled Wike, and since he has not formally joined the APC, he cannot claim leadership anywhere. He dismissed claims that the PDP has collapsed following Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s defection to the APC, stressing that the party remains fully structured and active across Rivers State.

According to him, Governor Fubara now leads the APC in the state, while he remains the legitimate head of the PDP. Ewor added that any private agreements mean nothing, insisting that ultimate power lies with Rivers voters ahead of the 2027 elections.

In a post on X, the former lawmaker recalled how he was once prosecuted by Malami over what he described as frivolous cases during Malami’s tenure as AGF.

He wrote, “Reminded me of how I was appearing in different courts when Malami as AGF was prosecuting me over frivolous cases, including taking over one of the police cases against me. Wish him well.”

Malami, his son Abdulaziz, and another individual are facing a 16-count charge of money laundering. They were arraigned over allegations of unlawful acquisition and concealment of funds and all pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Wike revealed that Awuse was removed while battling illness and reportedly in a coma, accusing the state government of replacing him instead of offering prayers and support. Expressing anger, Wike declared, “You tell me that I’m a fool? I’m a fool? Well, there’s always time for wrestling.”

Former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has accepted calls from supporters and stakeholders to contest the Kogi Central Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections against Senator Natasha-Akpoti.

The decision was announced during a high-profile visit to the palace of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, where Bello met with traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community elders from the district.

According to sources present at the meeting, Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, personally appealed to his predecessor to heed the requests of party leaders and constituents. The appeal was reportedly made in the presence of the Ohinoyi and other influential figures from the area.

After what sources described as prolonged persuasion, Bello agreed to accept the call to run, a move seen as a major political development in Kogi State as preparations gradually begin ahead of the 2027 elections.
