‘I trekked from Marina to Lekki phase 1’ – Video, reactions as massive gridlock choke motorists for 12 hours in Lagos

A video showing the traffic gridlock in Ikoyi for most of Wednesday, April 2 has generated rife reactions on social media. The situation, however, became chaotic as most road users were stuck on alternative routes for hours.

Social media in users fashion was awash with complaints as users shared videos and photos from their experiences.

Veteran comedian, Ali Baba in a video that has since gone viral noted that he was stuck in the traffic situation for more than 12 hours and ran out of few in the process.

While the conversations continue on several social and traditional media platforms, the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has directed the immediate reopening of the Independence Bridge.

The minister issued the directive on Wednesday following the situation that enveloped the Ikoyi area of Lagos.
