The decision follows a March 12 Appeal Court judgment in Akure that set aside a Federal High Court ruling, which had nullified the PDP primary election. Oluyede, a medical expert, won the November primary with 279 votes, defeating Funso Ayeni, who secured 239 votes.

Key Points:

The Appeal Court held that the PDP primary election that produced Oluyede complied with the party’s constitution and the Electoral Act.
INEC had initially excluded Oluyede’s name from its published list in January before the court ruling.
The three-member panel led by Peter Chudi Obiorah unanimously set aside the earlier Federal High Court decision.
The Ekiti governorship election is scheduled for June 20, 2026.
Oluyede’s victory in the primary came under the leadership of the Kabiru Turaki-led PDP NWC.

With the Court of Appeal ruling now implemented by INEC, the Ekiti PDP governorship ticket is settled, clearing the way for Oluyede to face the APC candidate in the June 20 election.
