Woman who felt ‘left behind’ after quitting religious life in the convent reveals how her life has been going

Mojirade Ewaade said becoming a reverend sister was her dream. However, when she went into religious life after secondary school, she realised it was not for her as she could not fit in.
She said she eventually quit and when she came out, she noticed that all her peers had moved on, with some married and some building careers, and she felt “left behind”.
Amid her confusion, she said she saw a tweet that reads: “You are 30 so don’t want to go for a 5 yr course because when you finish you will be 35. Whether you go back or not, you will be 35 in 5 yrs.”
She said the tweet motivated her to start afresh and she has now returned to school for a degree after initially vowing never to return to a school again when she was duped by a fake institution.
She went on to encourage others that it is never too late to start afresh.
She wrote on X: “So yeah, let me just share the story regardless!
“I honestly never wanted my private life out here, but I’m motivated to share this because someone out there might be walking a similar path.
“I finished secondary school as one of the bright students in my set. I always wanted to go into religious life yes, becoming a reverend sister was my dream. In fact, I wanted to be a reverend sister professor. But life had its own plans.
“I eventually entered the religious life, but I couldn’t fit in. I was naïve and not ready. Let’s just say I rushed into the whole thing(an episode of its own). Meanwhile, my mates were gaining admission into the university.
“When I left the religious life, I returned to see many of my peers already graduated, some even married.
“I didn’t know where or how to start. I took a pre-degree form and started school, only to discover after one year that the admission was fake. I left that state out of frustration and got so angry that I vowed never to step my foot in school again.
“After many years of wandering and trying to figure things out, I saw this tweet in 2022 and the rest, as they say, is history.
“I might not be a professor at 30, but I’m definitely on the path. My secondary school classmates who had smooth transitions are not better than me. I simply started all over again, five years later, and that’s okay.
“And yes, I picked up another degree last year… in fact, the degree of my choice.
“So please, don’t be discouraged. Your race is different. No two people run the same race. If I can do it, you absolutely can and you will.
“This is not a motivational speech, nor a pep talk. Pick it up and do it anyway! You are never too old for anything. Selah.”

Terrorists have released a picture of the abducted wife and daughter of slain Kaduna Anglican priest with gun pointed at them.
LIB reported that Ven. Edwin Achi, his wife Sarah and their daughter were abducted from their residence in Chikun Local Government Area on October 28, 2025.
The terrorists threatened to k!ll the victims if their family failed to pay N200 million ransom.
The abductors killed the priest before the ultimatum lapsed and later released a picture of him and his wife on his Facebook page.
A family member, Avril, confirmed the latest development on X while addressing journalist Rufai Oseni.
“Please keep pushing the news that Ven. Edwin Achi’s wife Sarah Achi is still in captivity. Their captors recently uploaded a picture of her and daughter, with a gun pointed at them. Their demands are incoherent at this point,” he wrote.
Posting a heart wrenching photo of the victims on Wednesday, he wrote: “This is not a country.”
