Empty Road, Big Bill: ₦10.7bn Flyover Sparks Public Debate in Osun

A public affairs commentator, Ogbeni Yakubu Atanda, has criticised the construction of the ₦10.7 billion Oke Fia Flyover in Osogbo, questioning its necessity and value for public funds.

In a statement, Atanda argued that the flyover was sited in the wrong location, alleging that it has failed to address any significant traffic challenge. According to him, the project does not reflect prudent use of scarce public resources, as the area reportedly experiences low vehicular traffic compared to other parts of the Osun State capital.

He claimed that a photograph taken during what he described as a peak traffic period showed the flyover largely deserted, insisting that the structure has not justified the huge investment committed to it..See the video & full news here.
