Taiwo Oyedele Appointed Nigeria’s New Finance Minister

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Taiwo Oyedele as the new Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, replacing Wale Edun in a minor cabinet reshuffle. Oyedele previously served as Minister of State for Finance.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume announced the changes, stating they aim to “strengthen cohesion and synergy in governance” and enhance economic delivery under the Renewed Hope Agenda. Edun has been directed to hand over by Thursday.
