Bayo Adelabu to Resign as Power Minister, Joins 2027 Oyo Guber Race

Minister of Power Bayo Adelabu will resign his appointment “in the coming days” to pursue a governorship bid in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 general election. Adelabu intimated to President Bola Tinubu of his impending resignation during a meeting on Tuesday, and the president granted his blessing. Adelabu presented his scorecard and policy documents for the power sector to guide succession. He was appointed minister of power on August 16, 2023.
