An Ekiti high court has sentenced two men to death by hanging for kidnapping Omoboade Adesina, an official of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), on April 22, 2022. Convicts Ibrahim Abubakar and Abdullahi Abubakar were found guilty of the abduction, while a third defendant, Usman Abubakar, was discharged due to insufficient evidence.

The prosecution proved its case beyond a reasonable doubt, with an identification parade and call data records linking the convicts to the offence. The chief judge, Lekan Ogunmoye, delivered the judgment.
