4,860 NBA Election 2026: Badejo-Okusanya Opens Early Lead in Presidential Race

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mrs Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, has taken an early lead in the Nigerian Bar Association presidential election, polling 4,860 votes, representing 41.77% of ballots counted so far.​

Her closest challenger, Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe (SAN), secured 3,851 votes (33.10%), while Aare Olumuyiwa Akinboro (SAN) garnered 2,924 votes (25.13%). The 11,600 votes cast so far suggest the association is tilting in favour of Badejo-Okusanya.

The election comes amid controversy over its integrity, with NBA President Afam Osigwe dismissing allegations of interference and insisting the Electoral Committee operates independently.
