The African Democratic Congress has dismissed President Donald Trump’s letter to President Bola Tinubu as routine diplomatic correspondence, saying it will not save Tinubu from electoral defeat in 2027 and cannot substitute for the verdict of the Nigerian people.

ADC National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi said the Presidency’s celebration of the letter betrays “desperation for any form of validation.” He noted that the US travel advisory on Nigeria remains at Level 3 and 4, with several states designated “Do Not Travel” areas. The party said Nigerians will judge the government by results, not by letters from foreign capitals.
