One Dead as Multi-Car Crash on Kara Bridge Causes Gridlock Along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

One person has died, and others were wounded following an early-morning multiple-car crash along the Kara Bridge, inward Mowe/Ibafo on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, causing a gridlock that left hundreds of motorists stranded.​

The first crash occurred at about 12:05 a.m., involving five articulated trucks and one Toyota Sienna vehicle, caused by speed violation and loss of control. A second crash occurred at about 3:15 a.m., involving a Mazda commercial bus, caused by brake failure, leaving the driver seriously injured.

Traffic backlog extended to Otedola Bridge, affecting the Isheri-Olowora axis and Ogunusi Road. Officials have opened one-way traffic from Berger to OPIC Turning to ease movement.
