Operatives of the Bayelsa State Special Police Squad, Door Akpor, have arrested a 40 years old man over allegations of defilement, threat to life and impregnating a 12 years old girl in Dimrose area of Ebis in Biogbolo community of Yenagoa.

According to the mother of the defiled girl, the victim was discovered to be seven months pregnant when she fainted due to strange ailments.

According to the worried mother, her daughter confessed that it was the stepmother’s daughter who took her to the man before she was violated.

She noted that she was a virgin and the man continuously had carnal knowledge of her with threats of death if she told anyone.

She claimed that the dastardly act was carried out during the time the victim was with her father and stepmother. She was raped by the suspect in her father’s house.

“When she fainted, I took her to a pharmacy and a pregnancy test and a scan were carried out, it was confirmed that she is pregnant. After telling the mother who was responsible, she later fainted at night screaming that she was being spiritually attacked.”

In a petition to the State Police Commissioner, the family said the incident has brought pain, trauma and embarrassment to the family.

They also sought for the immediate transfer of the case to the state Police Command as it is a case of defilement.

BVN registration is now for adults only – Only individuals aged 18 and above can independently register for a BVN. Minors require guardian-linked arrangements.
One device per banking app – You can only use your banking app on one device at a time. Switching devices triggers a 24-hour transaction limit of N20,000.
Authorised channels only – BVN services are now limited to CBN-approved banks and financial institutions. Avoid third-party apps or unofficial agents.

More than 1,000 victims across 19 countries were defrauded of about $215 million in a sprawling business email compromise scheme, leading to convictions of Nigerian nationals, the US attorney’s office has said.
