Benue State security operatives have arrested seven foreign nationals suspected of engaging in criminal activities in Imande-Agbatse, a border community linking Nigeria and Cameroon.

The suspects, identified as Titakung Cyril Gadinga, Nuvi Clifford Babila, Foyabo Godwin Nuvi T, Doh Collins Dobgima, Basil Smith, Dama Kenneth Babila, and Dingana Emmanuel, were apprehended by vigilant youths of the community in the early hours of Monday before being handed over to security forces.

According to a report by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, on Tuesday, the men were accused of participating in banditry and supporting criminal networks operating across the border.

The report noted that the suspects are in the custody of the State Police Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) and undergoing profiling and investigation.

Zagazola, citing security sources, added that Benue State has remained largely calm despite the incident, as authorities work to uncover the suspects’ exact role in cross-border criminal operations.
