“Behind the Fame: Funke Akindele Opens Up on the Overwhelming Pressures of Stardom”

Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has revealed that she sometimes breaks down in tears behind closed doors while dealing with the pressures of fame and public scrutiny.

The actress made the disclosure during an interview with CNN, where she spoke about the emotional struggles people do not see despite her cheerful public appearance.

“I cry. I lock myself in the room, cry, break down, and hit the bed. But I just pick myself up and come back to life,” Akindele said.

She also disclosed that public opinion sometimes asks her question her personal decisions and worry about how people perceive her.

“Sometimes I tell myself, you’ve made a mistake again. How are people going to judge you?” she said.

However, Akindele said she has learnt to pick herself up and move forward without allowing public criticism to define her.
