BREAKING NEWS: 6 Zamfara PDP Lawmakers Decamp to All Progressives Congress (APC)
Six lawmakers in the Zamfara State House of Assembly have dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defection was formally announced, marking a fresh political shift in the state legislature.

Those who crossed over include Hon. Muktar Nasir Kaura, who represents Kaura North constituency.
Also involved is Hon. Nasiru Abdullahi Maru of Maru North and Hon. Amiru Ahmad Keta from Tsafe West.
Others are Hon. Bashar Aliyu Gummi, representing Gummi I constituency, and Barrister Bashir Abubakar Masama of Bukkuyum North.
Hon. Bashir Bello, the lawmaker for Bungudu West constituency, is also part of the defection.
The lawmakers announced their decision during plenary, where they cited political realignment and the need to work with the ruling party as reasons for their move.
Their defection immediately changes the numerical balance within the Assembly.
With this development, the APC now holds a stronger position in the Zamfara State House of Assembly.

President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday for a three-nation visit to France, Kenya, and Rwanda. He will attend the Africa-France Summit in Nairobi (May 11-12), co-chaired by Presidents Macron and Ruto, focusing on energy transition, digital transformation, and climate action.
