BREAKING NEWS: We are shocked – Sanusi’s course mates express disbelief as Emir resumes undergraduates lectures
The Emir of Kano, Dr. Muhammadu Sanusi II, on Tuesday returned to the classroom as he commenced his undergraduate studies at the Northwest University, Kano.
Sanusi began his first day as a student of the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Common Law and Sharia programme within the university’s Faculty of Law.
He secured admission into the LL.B Common Law and Sharia degree at Level 200, effective from the 2024/2025 academic session.
His return to academic life has drawn widespread public attention, with many describing the move as a strong testament to his commitment to lifelong learning, intellectual growth, and scholarship, even while fulfilling his royal duties.
The Emir’s pursuit of higher education has also been hailed as an inspiration to young people, emphasizing the importance of education at every stage in life.
His class representative, Ibrahim Hassan Dambatta, expressed delight over the Emir’s interactions with students as a course-mate.
In an interview with DAILY POST, Dambatta described the experience as unprecedented.
“I can’t imagine seeing him in my class; it was unbelievable. His presence gives us a whole new sense of hope and courage,” he said.
He added that the department has undergone a noticeable change since the Emir joined, joking that they have now become the “favorites” because of his arrival.
The university is expected to officially introduce the Emir as part of its new intake later this week.
