With N7.073 million spent on twenty-five cartons of Cream Crackers biscuits, each carton would have cost N282,928.
In another instance, on October 4, 2023, a sum of N7.073 million was again paid to Danlokey Systems Limited for the supply of thirty cartons of Cream Crackers biscuits.

On August 30, 2023, another N8.136 million was paid to Danlokey Systems Limited for the supply of thirty cartons of Cream Crackers biscuits.
The description read: “Being payment for the supply of 30 cartons of Cream crackers biscuits (Dry ration) for logistics requirements/consumables for personnel deployed to carry out discreet security operations in Yobe State.”
In total, the Nigerian Police spent N22.282 million on eighty-five cartons of Cream Crackers biscuits, which means each carton across the three payments cost an average of N261,717.
Previously, SaharaReporters had also revealed through Govspend records that the Nigerian Police Force paid N13.3 million for the purchase of twenty-four packs of toilet rolls.
According to the descriptions, the payments were made in two tranches between April and July 2023 for Carla Rose toilet rolls.
On April 21, 2023, the Police Formations and Command paid N6.558 million to Waves Fulfillment Limited for the supply of twelve packets of toilet rolls (Carla Rose, 48 rolls each per packet).
Another payment of N6.8 million was made on July 27, 2023, to the same Waves Fulfillment Limited for the supply of “12 pkts of toilet rolls (Carla Rose 48 each per packet).”
This means that between April 21 and July 27, 2023, the Nigerian Police paid a total of N13.3 million for twenty-four packets of Carla Rose toilet rolls.
However, a SaharaReporters market survey revealed that the open market prices of Carla Rose toilet rolls were far lower than what the police paid.
Checks on the popular trading platform Jumia show that “Rose Carla Tissue Paper Roll (one bag of 48 pieces) cost N55,000.”
On Konga, the same product sells for N50,000.
At these rates, twenty-four packs of Carla Rose toilet rolls, each containing 48 pieces, should not cost more than N1.320 million.

New CBN BVN Rules: 5 Things Nigerians Must Know From May 1

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has introduced new Bank Verification Number (BVN) rules effective from May 1, 2026, aimed at reducing fraud, especially SIM swap and identity theft cases. The regulations include stricter controls on phone number changes, age restrictions, device limits, and temporary account restrictions for suspicious activities. Here is a simple breakdown of what you need to know.
One phone number change in a lifetime – Customers can only change the phone number linked to their BVN once. Choose carefully.
24-hour watchlist for suspicious BVNs – Banks can temporarily restrict accounts flagged for suspicious activity while investigations are conducted.
BVN registration is now for adults only – Only individuals aged 18 and above can independently register for a BVN. Minors require guardian-linked arrangements.
One device per banking app – You can only use your banking app on one device at a time. Switching devices triggers a 24-hour transaction limit of N20,000.
Authorised channels only – BVN services are now limited to CBN-approved banks and financial institutions. Avoid third-party apps or unofficial agents.
The new rules may feel strict, but they are designed to protect your money and reduce fraud. Be more careful with your phone number, devices, and banking activities to avoid unnecessary restrictions...TAP TO CONTINUE FULL READING.
