“If only she pray then” – 2021 prophecy Omije Ojumi allegedly ignored goes viral after her death

Published

on

Fans of gospel singer Bunmi Akinnanu, popularly known as Omije Ojumi, have been revisiting an old prophecy from 2021 after news of her death shocked social media.

The prophecy, which allegedly warned the singer of imminent danger, has sparked widespread discussion online.
Old Prophecy Comes Back to Light

Screenshots circulating on social media show a prophet reportedly reaching out to Omije Ojumi via Instagram four years ago.

In the message, the cleric claimed to have received a vision in which he heard Yoruba words that suggested serious danger for the singer.

The message read in part:

“Hello ma, this might sound absurd, you don’t know me, nor have I also seen you one on one physically before, but I am just a child of God like you. I hope you get to read this message by the mercies of God. I have not come to cook this story and I am not telling you for you to recognise me, but just for you to pray.

Mum, in a vision of the night I heard some words in Yoruba, like ‘ti o ba tun raiye wa, (if you can come to this world again, you won’t be doing anyhow to them).’ So very frightening. Very frightened, I asked, is she dead? Somebody answered me, Is this not her baby or something? We have killed her.

Ma, I know nothing bad will happen to you, but still something like this requires prayers. I know you are a prayer warrior, kindly pray ma. That evil conspiracies over you and your ministry that God should fight for your cause. I have raised prayer altars for you, and I believe the vision will not come to pass, if only we will pray. God bless you ma.”
Alleged Response Sparks Reactions

The screenshots also showed Omije Ojumi’s alleged reply to the prophet, which many netizens found noteworthy.

Her response, perceived by some as dismissive, sparked discussions online about the prophecy and whether it could have been averted through prayer.
Connection With Reported Illness

In late 2025, videos of Omije Ojumi appearing visibly ill and in discomfort went viral.

Many social media users drew a connection between her health struggles and the prophecy she was said to have ignored, expressing shock and grief over her unexpected demise.

Sheikh Gumi Alleges US Intelligence Behind Boko Haram and Banditry in Nigeria

Published

on

Kaduna-based Islamic cleric Ahmad Gumi has alleged that American intelligence agencies are behind the activities of bandits and Boko Haram terrorists in Nigeria. Gumi made the claim in a Facebook post on Saturday while reacting to comments by Mike Arnold, who had spoken about the alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

Gumi accused Arnold of promoting a false narrative about Christian killings while ignoring the insecurity affecting parts of northern Nigeria. He wrote that bandits and Boko Haram are “allegedly sponsored by the same American intelligence.” Gumi added: “One of the things Islam abhors is lies and liars.”

Key Points:

Gumi’s allegation could strain Nigeria-US counterterrorism cooperation if taken seriously.
The cleric’s claims may fuel anti-American sentiment among Nigerians already frustrated with insecurity.
Families of victims of banditry and Boko Haram attacks may feel their suffering is being used for political narratives.
The US government has not responded to Gumi’s allegations at the time of this report.
The timing of this claim, amid ongoing counterterrorism talks between Nigerian and US officials, is highly sensitive.
