Marcus Rashford Proves He Can Be Barcelona’s Game-Changer

Published

on

Marcus Rashford showed once again why Barcelona may want to keep him beyond this season, delivering a decisive performance in their crucial Champions League win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

With Barça struggling to break down a deep-defending opponent, Rashford stepped up and provided the spark Hansi Flick’s side desperately needed.

The Blaugrana dominated possession—as they often do—but lacked penetration in the final third. Rashford, introduced at half-time, immediately shifted the tempo.

His directness, urgency and willingness to try a different approach gave Barcelona a dimension they were missing, reports Barca Blaugranes

His moment of brilliance came with a perfect cross to Jules Kounde, a pass few in the squad could execute.

The power, accuracy and timing showed exactly why Rashford’s English background and style bring something different to the team.
Barcelona needed a new solution, and Rashford delivered it

From the left flank, Barcelona have struggled to find consistent end product this season, with Alejandro Balde offering energy but not always precision.

Rashford changed that instantly, taking risks and attacking the game rather than waiting for the ideal passing sequence. His influence also sparked Lamine Yamal, who soon created another aerial chance for Kounde.

Barcelona’s comeback keeps their Champions League top-eight hopes alive, with Slavia Prague and Copenhagen still to come. But Flick knows his side must be more pragmatic, not just dominant in possession.

Even with Raphinha returning, Rashford has proven he can be a match-winner off the bench. If he wants a long-term stay at Camp Nou, performances like this will strengthen his case.

On a night when Barcelona looked lost, Rashford became the difference maker.

Ejuke attracts Premier League interest

Published

on

Chidera Ejuke could be on the move this summer, with several mid-table Premier League sides keeping tabs on the Sevilla winger.

According to Spanish news outlet, Fichajes, the interested clubs have been following Ejuke’s progress for several months.

The clubs believe his explosiveness, dribbling skills, and one-on-one ability make him well-suited to the Premier League.

Sevilla could be open to selling Ejuke if a suitable offer comes in, as the club looks to restructure and improve its financial balance.

The 28-year-old joined Sevilla on a free transfer in 2024 following the expiration of his contract with Russian club, CSKA Moscow.

The winger has however struggled to make much impact since his arrival at the club.

Ejuke has registered one goal, and one assist in 24 league appearances this season.

UCL: We didn’t have killer instinct in attack – Neuer knocks Bayern Munich stars

Published

on

Bayern Munich goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, has criticized Vincent Kompany’s men following their elimination from the Champions League on Wednesday.

Neuer said the Bavarians didn’t have that killer instinct against the French Ligue 1 champions during the encounter at the Allianz Arena.

Ousmane Dembele and Harry Kane’s goals ensured both teams drew 1-1 in the Champions League semi-final second leg, but Luis Enrique’s men progressed to the final on a 6-5 aggregate win.

“We didn’t have that killer instinct in attack tonight,” Neuer said at his post-match interview after the game.

“We may not have had that many clear-cut chances, but we certainly had the opportunity to win the match. We were close to the final but couldn’t get over the line.

“If we’d had a key moment and scored the goal, it’s a different story. Unfortunately, our goal came a bit too late.”

UCL: They can kill you – Thierry Henry warns Arsenal about Paris Saint-Germain

Published

on

Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, has warned his old club about Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the Champions League final later this month.

Speaking on CBS Sports, after PSG eliminated Bayern Munich from the Champions League semi-final stage on Wednesday night, Henry insisted that Luis Enrique’s men can ‘kill’ opponents in both ways by scoring more goals.

“You want your team [Arsenal] to win and experience that. Hopefully it’s going to happen, but look at how PSG played tonight, they can kill you in both ways, by scoring more goals than you and by neutralising you,” Henry said.

“The best team on the night and in the tie won, and they went about it in a different way against Bayern.

“They have everything they need, but Arsenal have been resilient, and when we do creates we score goals. It will be difficult, but let’s see.”
