PDP Chairman, Turaki Speaks After Meeting With Obasanjo

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to restoring internal democracy and returning power to the people, as he declared the PDP’s readiness to reclaim key states in the South-West.
Speaking at the PDP state secretariat after a visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Turaki assured party members and supporters of the PDP’s momentum toward electoral victories in the 2026 governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun states.

“Let me assure all our members and the good people of the South-West: We will win Ekiti, we will win Osun, and we are not stopping there. By the special grace of God and the unwavering support of our people, we will take over Ogun State,” he said.
The PDP Chairman expressed appreciation to former President Olusegun Obasanjo for what he described as “invaluable counsel,” following their meeting earlier in the day.
He said the interaction with Obasanjo had further energised the party’s leadership and sharpened its strategic focus ahead of upcoming elections.
According to Turaki, the party’s vision for the South-West revolves around good governance, economic revitalisation, and better service delivery, all of which he said had been lacking under the current administration.
“Nigerians are tired of the current trajectory and are ready to return to the PDP,” he stated.
Turaki also reiterated the party’s determination to ensure that internal democracy and transparency are fully restored.
“Our commitment is to make the PDP a credible and formidable alternative that Nigerians can trust again,” he said.

President Tinubu Heads to France, Kenya, Rwanda for Key Summits

President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday for a three-nation visit to France, Kenya, and Rwanda. He will attend the Africa-France Summit in Nairobi (May 11-12), co-chaired by Presidents Macron and Ruto, focusing on energy transition, digital transformation, and climate action. He will then proceed to the Africa CEO Forum in Kigali (May 14-15), themed “Scale or Fail,” highlighting Nigeria’s investment reforms. The trip will last approximately two weeks.

Presidency, Peter Obi in war of words over Nigeria’s Borrowing Spree

The Presidency and opposition figure Peter Obi have traded words over the Federal Government’s borrowing profile. Peter Obi: Workers Must Reject Bad Governance, Failure, Corruption

Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has urged Nigerian workers to wield their collective voice and votes to demand competent leadership.
