Shockwaves As Celestial Church Of Christ Announces Demise Of Influential Pius Olarewaju

The Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Worldwide has announced the death of Superior Evangelist Pius Ige Olarewaju, an influential cleric and administrator whose passing has sent shockwaves across the church and its parishes.
In an official condolence statement signed by AVSE Kayode Ajala MPIC, head of media and publicity, the church described Olarewaju’s death as a painful loss, noting that his life was defined by service, compassion, and unwavering faith.
“With heavy hearts and tearful eyes, we bid farewell to a remarkable soul,” the statement read, adding that his passing has left the church in “a profound state of sadness”.
The church said Olarewaju was “a beacon of light that illuminated countless lives” and whose legacy of hope and inspiration would endure.
According to findings and church sources, the late superior evangelist was the founder of the Omo Alade Alafia Group, an initiative widely acknowledged within the CCC as a model for ministry self-sustainability.
Insiders said the group has helped revolutionise structured support for parishioners through a chain of businesses spanning education, food production, and real estate, strengthening both the spiritual and economic wellbeing of members.
Sources further disclosed that Olarewaju was actively involved in worship shortly before his death.
He was present at the CCC Omo Alade Alafia Parish 1 service on Sunday, January 11, 2026, where he reportedly participated fully in all church activities.
An image taken during the service- and shared by Celestial Reality Check – captured what many now describe as his final act of thanksgiving, as he danced during the offering alongside fellow parishioners.
The official statement from the church reflected on his life of service, saying, “As we reflect on the life he lived, we celebrate his positive impact and laudable achievements. Truly, his dedication to spreading hope has left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.”
Church sources also confirmed that Olarewaju previously served on the Board of Trustees of the Celestial Church of Christ Nigeria Diocese, Makoko, where he was said to have discharged his responsibilities diligently during his tenure.
Announcing that he passed to glory on Monday, January 12, 2026, the church expressed confidence in his eternal rest, drawing comfort from scripture.
“Though the pain of this loss is profound, we find solace in the knowledge that he has joined the celestial choir, singing praises in the presence of our Lord,” the statement said.
Reverend E.M.F. Oshoffa, pastor and spiritual head of CCC Worldwide, alongside the Board of Trustees and the Pastor in Council, conveyed condolences to his family, loved ones, and the Omo Alade Alafia group of parishes. The church prayed that God would grant them strength, quoting Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
Describing his life as a reminder of the unpredictability of life and the need to live purposefully, the church urged members to honour Olarewaju’s memory by upholding the values of faith, hope, and love which he embodied.
“His journey here may have ended, but his legacy lives on,” the statement concluded, calling on the faithful to support his family with prayers as the church mourns what it described as an irreparable loss.

Sheikh Gumi Alleges US Intelligence Behind Boko Haram and Banditry in Nigeria

Kaduna-based Islamic cleric Ahmad Gumi has alleged that American intelligence agencies are behind the activities of bandits and Boko Haram terrorists in Nigeria. Gumi made the claim in a Facebook post on Saturday while reacting to comments by Mike Arnold, who had spoken about the alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria.
Gumi accused Arnold of promoting a false narrative about Christian killings while ignoring the insecurity affecting parts of northern Nigeria. He wrote that bandits and Boko Haram are “allegedly sponsored by the same American intelligence.” Gumi added: “One of the things Islam abhors is lies and liars.”
Key Points:
Gumi’s allegation could strain Nigeria-US counterterrorism cooperation if taken seriously.
The cleric’s claims may fuel anti-American sentiment among Nigerians already frustrated with insecurity.
Families of victims of banditry and Boko Haram attacks may feel their suffering is being used for political narratives.
The US government has not responded to Gumi’s allegations at the time of this report.
The timing of this claim, amid ongoing counterterrorism talks between Nigerian and US officials, is highly sensitive.
