‘They Want To Kill Me’ – Destiny Boy’s Mum Cries Out, Denies Role In Son’s Death

Published

on

Saidat Adeshina, the mother of late Nigerian singer Afeez Adeshina, popularly known as Destiny Boy, has cried out over threats to her life, just days after her son’s sudden death.

The 22-year-old Afro-fuji musician died on January 18 in controversial circumstances.

Following his tragic death, some social media users began spreading rumors that his mother had cursed him or was behind his death.

These claims quickly went viral, drawing harsh criticism and even threats against Mrs Adeshina. The situation has left the bereaved mother not only grieving but also fearful for her own safety.

In a recent viral video, Saidat addressed accusations that she was responsible for her son’s passing.

The grieving mother denied all claims linking her to her son’s death and dismissed claims that she placed a curse on him

She called on Nigerians to protect and stand by her, as she also appealed to people to stop spreading unverified stories about her.

She described the messages alleging she cursed or killed her son as false and damaging.

She said:

“Nigerians, fight for me. They want to punish and kill me over what I know nothing about. I don’t know who lied that I cursed my son or said I killed my son. I’m innocent. Why will I kill my own son, my source of joy?

Anyone who is behind this, what happened to me will happen to them, or else Afeez did not suck my breast. Do you think it is easy to lose one’s son?”

Whoever it is that is sharing such a barbaric voice note that I am cursing my son and I killed him, I pray that such a person will experience what I am facing.

I do know nothing about my son’s de@th. Some people intentionally want to accuse me. Everyone who is cursing me out on social media will suffer my same fate.”

News of the singer’s demise circulated on social media on Sunday.

Saidat had earlier explained that her son had been battling a serious health issues privately. She said his health struggles began two years ago during preparations for the naming ceremony of his first child.

She stated that the family exhaustively pursued every possible solution — both medical and traditional — to find a cure.

In their desperation, Destiny Boy was referred to an Ifa priest, Ifayomi Oba Edu, whom he regarded as a father figure.

She said the sickness is called ‘Oku Oru’ and that anytime it strikes him, he becomes stiff like someone who has epilepsy, and when he recovers, he starts behaving like someone with a mental disorder.

She added that the family chose to keep the battle from the public.

However, a conflicting narrative emerged from a TikTok live session where Saidat’s footage was played.

In the session, hosted by TikToker Oko Awon Single Mothers, Saidat was heard angrily scolding her son for allegedly cursing a lady.

“You dare curse Rodiat? And you know me. You have been trying to build your house for the past 10 years you could not. You are useless. Unless I am not your mother, will my curses not come to pass?”

she declared.

The video sparked public outcry, with some viewers calling for Saidat’s arrest.

In response, Destiny Boy’s elder sister defended their mother. In a now-trending video, she slammed the TikToker for promoting the allegation.

She said the video was taken out of context and only captured a family disagreement. She insisted her brother had only a disagreement with their mother and questioned the basis of the claims.

She also challenged the accuser to provide evidence that Saidat intended to harm her son.

“I am Destiny Boy’s sister. I am seeing something that is going viral on TikTok and Facebook, where bloggers are writing about it.

“Did you see it when Destiny’s mother killed her own son? Because you are cursing Destiny Boy’s mother now. Is it possible for a mother to kill her own child?

“He fought with my mother. And my mum was talking to him so that he would listen to her and obey her. Do you think you can just abuse anyone you feel like abusing anyhow?”

She also dismissed claims linking Destiny Boy to money rituals, asking accusers to provide evidence.

“You also said he did a money ritual. Were you there when he did it?” she asked.

On Monday, the Ogun state police command arrested one suspect in connection with the death of Destiny Boy.

Ilebaye’s Father Claims She Assaulted Him First: ‘I Acted Out of Frustration’

Published

on

Hon. Godson Odiniya, father of BBNaija Season 8 winner Ilebaye Odiniya, has continued to open up on the alleged physical altercation between him and the reality star, claiming he acted out of frustration while trying to correct her. In a viral audio recording, he alleged that Ilebaye assaulted him with an AC hanger and broke an electric lantern on his head.

He claimed she became difficult to advise after winning BBNaija and that he hit her “out of provocation to scold her because I can’t watch her destroy her life.” He also made comments about her cosmetic surgery, saying, “Anything that touches her becomes so big.”

Key Points:

The father now claims self-defence, shifting blame from the assault video seen by millions.
His comments about her body and surgery add a disturbing layer of body shaming to the abuse.
Claiming a child assaulted him first is a common tactic used to justify parental violence.
The public remains deeply skeptical, with many pointing out the power imbalance between father and daughter.
The timing of these multiple statements suggests an organised effort to control the public narrative.

Ilebaye’s Father Breaks silence after Assault on Daughter: ‘I Contributed 75% to her BBN Win’

Published

on

Hon. Emmanuel Godson Odiniya, father of former Big Brother Naija winner Ilebaye Odiniya, has spoken out following the dispute that led to the physical assault of his daughter.

In an emotional audio statement, the Kogi politician claimed he contributed “well over 75%” to her 2023 victory using his political connections and relationships across Nigeria and abroad. He alleged that governors, colleagues, and supporters from Kogi State donated money to keep her in the competition.

The politician expressed disappointment over what he described as a lack of appreciation after her victory, saying she stopped listening to him and rarely gave him audience.

Key Points:

The father’s attempt to justify the assault by citing his financial contributions is being rejected by Nigerians.
His claim of 75% responsibility for her victory dismisses the millions of fans who actually voted for Ilebaye.
The father’s expectation of “returns” from his daughter’s fame suggests he views her success as an investment.
This case mirrors other celebrity family disputes where parents feel entitled to control adult children’s lives.
The timing of his statement, while reportedly receiving treatment for injuries, appears designed to shift public sympathy.

Kunle Remi Fires Shot at Entourages Crowding Stage with AMVCA Winners

Published

on

Nigerian actor Kunle Remi has fired a shot at entourages who go on stage to celebrate with winners at the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA). In an Instagram story shortly after the ceremony at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, Remi congratulated the night’s winners before addressing the growing trend. “Please stop crowding the stage with the winners… let them shine.

Let them own and feel the moment. Celebrate with them when they come off the stage,” he wrote. This is not the first time Remi has criticised the AMVCA, having previously spoken about his omission from nomination lists and the award presentation process.

Key Points:

Winners deserve their moment of individual recognition without being overshadowed by large entourages.
The tradition of crowding the stage may diminish the emotional impact of receiving an award.
Remi’s comments reflect growing public fatigue with overproduced award ceremony moments.
Other actors may now speak out about similar frustrations with award show traditions.
The timing of his critique, immediately after the ceremony, keeps the conversation about AMVCA standards alive.
