A video showing the moment Arise News Prime Time presenter, Charles Aniagolu, and social media influencer, Reno Omokri were engaged in a heated argument backstage before a scheduled interview has gone viral.

The video was leaked by Former Mayor of the U.S. city of Blanco, Mike Arnold in a post on X. According to him, the argument was for who to sit on the spot meant for main guest. The main guest on the day was Arnold, a former Mayor, and Omokri, his handler...TAP TO CONTINUE FULL READING.

Omokri had engaged the ex-Mayor to present a fact-finding report aimed at debunking the allegation of genocide against Christians. However, the report instead corroborated the allegation of genocide and included a personality analysis of Omokri, whom the Mayor described as full of lies and manipulation.

In the backstage video posted by the former Mayor of Blanco, Aniagolu is seen telling Omokri that his demand to take the mains spot for the top guest was the most extraordinary thing he had ever heard. Omokri responded that it was because he’s an extraordinary person. Aniagolu countered, “No, you are a difficult person,” before succumbing in resignation.

Ex-Mayor’s Full Account

“We had been traveling for 30 hours. Taken straight from the airport directly to the scripted propaganda photo ops with the CAN imposter, then the three imams. And then hustled downstairs to the studio and straight on the air for this live, primetime interview.

“No bathroom break, no drink of water, no moment to catch our breath. I had to beg for just a moment to put on a clean shirt. He actually wanted me wearing my crumpled, grubby travel clothes. Bad enough my hair was messed up from sleeping on the airplane, and my teeth felt slimy. I’m sure we didn’t smell good either.

“Reno paid for this spot on TV, I was told $3,000.

“Watch it; you see that it was a setup. He was trying to trap me and get me on the record agreeing with him.

“Now here’s what’s going on in this video: the TV studio set has room for two guests. A third must go to an adjacent room. The host and all the staff assumed that they would do what they always have done: the actual guest would sit with the host, while the handler would go in the next room.

“Reno demanded that he sit on the main set, in the top guest chair. The host was adamant against that. (It went on much longer than this, and got quite heated. I only thought to record it at the last moment.)

“You can hear the music starting to play. We were about to go live. Reno was prepared to ditch and leave the host hanging. The host, without option, consented at the last moment, extremely upset. That’s what you call sleazy.”

on

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has introduced new Bank Verification Number (BVN) rules effective from May 1, 2026, aimed at reducing fraud, especially SIM swap and identity theft cases. The regulations include stricter controls on phone number changes, age restrictions, device limits, and temporary account restrictions for suspicious activities. Here is a simple breakdown of what you need to know.

One phone number change in a lifetime – Customers can only change the phone number linked to their BVN once. Choose carefully.
24-hour watchlist for suspicious BVNs – Banks can temporarily restrict accounts flagged for suspicious activity while investigations are conducted.
BVN registration is now for adults only – Only individuals aged 18 and above can independently register for a BVN. Minors require guardian-linked arrangements.
One device per banking app – You can only use your banking app on one device at a time. Switching devices triggers a 24-hour transaction limit of N20,000.
Authorised channels only – BVN services are now limited to CBN-approved banks and financial institutions. Avoid third-party apps or unofficial agents.

The new rules may feel strict, but they are designed to protect your money and reduce fraud. Be more careful with your phone number, devices, and banking activities to avoid unnecessary restrictions...TAP TO CONTINUE FULL READING.
