Boko Haram Sets Two Schools Ablaze in Chibok Village, Residents Flee Into Bushes

Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists attacked Kautikari village in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State on Saturday night, setting two schools on fire and forcing residents to flee into nearby bushes.

The attack began around 7 p.m., targeting the community’s primary school and day secondary school, both of which were engulfed in flames. Kautikari has suffered repeated Boko Haram attacks over the years, raising fresh concerns about security in the area.

Key Points:

The destruction of schools deprives children of education and deepens the community’s trauma.
Residents fleeing into the bushes face exposure to harsh conditions and potential further attacks.
Repeated attacks on the same village indicate a persistent security gap in Chibok.
The incident revives painful memories of the 2014 Chibok girls’ abduction.
Public frustration is growing, with many questioning the government’s ability to protect citizens.

A security operative confirmed the incident, but authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the attack.
