Dangote Refinery Partner MRS Reduces Fuel Pump Price

Dangote Refinery-backed MRS filling station has reduced the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N1,241 per litre in Abuja and its environs, down from N1,317, a cut of N76 or 5.77 per cent.

The development comes three days after Dangote Refinery reduced its petrol gantry price by N75 per litre following the drop in crude oil prices to below $80 per barrel.

However, NNPC, Ranoil, AA Rano, Empire Energy, and other filling stations in the nation’s capital have failed to cut their petrol pump prices despite the lower crude costs.

Key Points:

MRS customers in Abuja are now paying N76 less per litre, providing some relief.
The reduction follows Dangote’s gantry price cut and falling global crude prices.
Nigerians are frustrated that NNPC and other marketers have not followed suit.
The price disparity shows that some marketers are passing on savings while others are not.
Consumers may begin to choose MRS stations over competitors to save money.

Other marketers are under pressure to reduce prices. Nigerians are watching to see who will follow MRS’s lead.
