Nigerian music star David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, has reacted to the violence that broke out in Osun State, where gunshots were heard in parts of the state.

Naija News reports that the singer took to his social media page to criticize the political atmosphere in the state and accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of engaging in extreme political activities that he said are causing fear and insecurity among residents.

In his post, he questioned the rising tension and the impact of political rivalry on human lives, saying he does not believe such actions will help the APC win the upcoming election.

He also condemned what he described as intimidation and fear being spread in public spaces during the campaign period.

He wrote: “APC OSUN All these won’t win that August 15th governorship election for AMUBO your candidate sha. How many people needs to die, due to you guys style of extreme politicking? E wa n terrorize awon eyan kiri igboro ?? MCHEWWW LESSONS WILL BE LEARNT.”

His reaction comes amid the gunfire in Osogbo and nearby areas, which caused panic among residents, traders, and commuters.

Eyewitness accounts said people ran for safety as shots were heard in busy locations during the political activity.

Governor Ademola Adeleke also reacted to the incident, blaming supporters of the APC governorship camp for the violence.

He called on President Bola Tinubu and top security agencies, including the police and DSS, to intervene and restore order in the state.

The APC Campaign Council denied responsibility, instead accusing rival political groups of carrying out attacks on its supporters and campaign materials.

The party also called for a full investigation into the incident.

Security agencies have begun investigations into the shootings, while patrols have increased in affected areas to prevent further breakdown of law and order.

The Osun governorship election is scheduled for August 15, 2026, and political tension in the state has continued to rise as parties intensify their campaigns.
