US President Donald Trump has indicated he is nearing a decision on a potential “massive attack” on Iran, saying “Bigger than ever before. We are all set for it,” as oil prices surged past $100 per barrel amid escalating tensions.
Trump’s comments came as the US conducted its 13th consecutive night of strikes on Iran, with explosions reported in the Strait of Hormuz, Qeshm, Bandar Abbas and Tehran.
He said Israel “would join in two minutes if I ask them to” but added, “We don’t need anybody.” UN Secretary-General António Guterres warned the Security Council that the Middle East is being driven to the “edge of the unimaginable” as the conflict spirals out of control.
