Morocco Head Coach Ouahbi Promises Stronger Return After FIFA World Cup Quarterfinal Exit

Morocco coach Mohamed Ouahbi has promised that his team will bounce back from their World Cup quarter-final exit against France, saying the Atlas Lions will continue building as they prepare to co-host the 2030 World Cup.

France beat Morocco 2-0 at Gillette Stadium near Boston, a repeat of the scoreline when the sides met in the 2022 semi-finals. Ouahbi said: “France are a really great side. We know we can compete, and what we want to do is work even harder to try to do even better next time.”

He insisted the AFCON next year is the immediate priority before focusing on the 2030 World Cup, adding: “We have a huge hotbed of talent and a strong federation, so we have everything you could need to keep improving.”
