Viral Video Shows South African Tourists Being Chased Out of Mozambique Restaurant

A video circulating on social media has shown a group of South African tourists being asked to leave a restaurant in Mozambique.

Many online users have linked the incident to deadly xenophobic attacks against foreign Africans in living in South Africa.

The incident reportedly occurred at a restaurant in Matola, where the owner was seen confronting the tourists, who were in Mozambique for a vacation.

She would be heard telling the South Africans to return to their country.

The restaurant owner said South Africans frequently tell Mozambicans and other African nationals to leave South Africa, adding that it was now their turn to experience the same treatment.

The incident comes against the backdrop of repeated attacks in South Africa targeting citizens of other African countries.

In recent months, Mozambique, Nigeria, Ghana and several other African countries evacuated some of their citizens from South Africa.
