Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has rejoined South African Premier Soccer League club Chippa United, five months after his shock departure in February, according to TheCable.
The 30-year-old had submitted a transfer request and mutually terminated his contract, with reports citing greener pastures as his reason. However, Nwabali has been without a club since leaving, having lost both of his parents within a span of just a month and a half between November 2024 and January 2025.
The club welcomed back its captain, saying: “After taking time away, Stanley Nwabali returns to the Eastern Cape.” Nwabali made 76 appearances and kept 24 clean sheets in his first stint with the club.
