Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu has disclosed that the committee that developed the framework for the proposed state police system studied India, the United States, and Pakistan’s models before submitting its recommendations, according to reports from Vanguard.
Speaking at a workshop on State Police organised by the Nigeria Police Institute in Abuja, Disu urged police personnel to take an active role in shaping the national conversation on the proposed establishment through informed engagement.
He said the committee completed its framework in 17 days, and retired Inspectors-General of Police have also reviewed the document and offered contributions.
