BREAKING NEWS: US Lawmaker Alleges Nigeria’s Defence Minister Matawalle Attempted to Bribe American Official
Kimberly Daniels, a Democratic member of the Florida House of Representatives, has alleged that Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, attempted to bribe a US official to deflect the narrative of a report on Christian genocide in Nigeria.
Daniels, who chairs the United World Congress of Diplomats (UN-WCD), made the claim in a viral video. She had previously called on President Tinubu to remove Matawalle over alleged complicity in killings in Plateau, Benue, and Kaduna.
Key Points:
Daniels said a US elected official was offered money to change the report’s narrative.
She insisted that no amount of pressure can silence her stance on Christian killings.
Matawalle has not yet officially responded to the allegations.
The UN-WCD report indicted Matawalle over security failures.
This follows earlier calls for Matawalle’s removal or redeployment.
The allegations add to growing international scrutiny of Nigeria’s security leadership.
