An Enugu Air aircraft carrying 63 passengers and five crew members veered off the runway after landing at Benin Airport, forcing the temporary closure of the runway and prompting a full investigation by the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau.

The Embraer E170 aircraft, operating as Flight 4264 from Lagos to Benin, overran the end of Runway 05 at about 3:10 p.m. on Thursday. All passengers and crew were safely evacuated without injuries. The NSIB deployed its Go Team within minutes to commence a full investigation. Air Peace temporarily suspended all flights to and from Benin following the runway closure. A preliminary report is expected within 30 days.
