Senator Orji Kalu has described the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) as “the conscience of the country” and urged President Bola Tinubu to reflect on their concerns rather than view them as political criticism.
Speaking in a video on his Facebook page, Kalu said the bishops’ intervention was intended to help the government improve governance.
He acknowledged economic difficulties but said they were not solely Tinubu’s fault. Kalu also corrected the misconception that Cardinal Onaiyekan is CBCN president, clarifying that Matthew Ndagoso holds that position.
