BREAKING: Naira records highest depreciation in two weeks

The naira extended its bearish run to record the highest depreciation against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market.

The Central Bank of Nigeria’s data showed that the Naira weakened further to N1,380.08 per dollar on Wednesday from N1,370.64 traded on Tuesday.

This means that on a day-to-day basis, the Naira slipped by N9.44 against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market.

Meanwhile, at the black market, the Naira remained flat at N1,400 per dollar, the same rate multiple bureaus de change told DAILY POST on Wednesday.

The development comes as the country’s external reserves rose further to $51.17 billion as of 23rd June 2026.

Recall that the Naira had dropped against the dollar at the official foreign market on Tuesday.
