The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed a fire incident at the electronics section of the Justrite Superstore in Egbeda-Akowonjo, Lagos, with firefighters successfully extinguishing the blaze without any casualties.
The fire broke out at No. 116, Akowonjo Road, near Jimoh Bus Stop, at about 8:15 a.m. on Thursday. Firefighters from Abesan and Agege Fire Stations arrived by 8:28 a.m. and immediately launched coordinated operations to contain the blaze.
Preliminary findings suggest the fire originated from an alternative power source, specifically the building’s solar inverter system. The incident comes hours after a gas-laden tanker caught fire in Ikotun.
