JUST IN: Abuja High Court Sentences Three to Life Imprisonment Over Oyo School Abduction

The Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced three suspects linked to the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State, to life imprisonment for their roles in the May 15 attack.​

Justice Salim Ibrahim ordered the life sentence to take effect from the date of the convicts’ arrest. Abdulrazak Umar (Abu Khalifa), Yunusa Musa (Yunusa bin Musa) and Shamsu Adamu Sani (Abu Itisar) were convicted on charges of terrorism, kidnapping and concealment of information.

The defendants pleaded guilty to some counts while denying others. They were accused of belonging to Darul Salam, an affiliate of Ansaru, a proscribed terrorist organisation.
